DAY 13 JULY 1, 2010

We left Pocatello, ID and as we did, we rode through the campus of Idaho State University. The student enrollment is 13,000. We rode highway 15 for 20 miles when there was a sudden wind switch from tailwind to headwind. The headwind was blowing at us with gusts up to 40 mph. The next 21 miles were awful. When the gusts hit us, it stopped us dead in our tracks. We had to stand and wait for the winds to subside. Finally, we turned east onto route 30 and had more of a side-tailwind. It was helpful but we then encountered a 5 mile steep(6%grade)climb. When we reached the top, we were at 6,066 feet above sealevel. The downhill ride was fun at 40 mph in the town of Soda Springs, ID. Exhausted, we stayed at a hotel.
