Day 14 July 2, 2010

Could anything be worse than yesterday? Yes, today!! We had heard that wind direction was going to change and come out of he NW but 30-45 mph out of the SE wore us down. We rode for EIGHT hours today and pedaled 35 miles. Very, very frustrating! Again, we had to just stop and let the gusts slow down. My quote to Deb was; "These are he times that try a man's soul" Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776. I have a muscle strain that is hurting my right forearm. I have to ice it to keep the pain level down. Tomorrow I will ride with it bandaged and iced. OK, enough gloom and doom. We really took the day in stride, got covered with blowing dirt on every part of our bodies and are looking forward to a better day tomorrow. 21 miles to Wyoming and much happier trails to come. The scenery was quite spectacular today.
